Am I the only one that thinks Cam is lucky Belinda dosen’t listen to the show.

  3. Miriam Parkinson Says:

Errrm Cam, hate to break it to you but… speaking as a robotics student, AI is at the level of a cockroach atm and it isnt really moving very fast. Robots are going to remain entirely reactive for quite a while yet so, when he says sex with robots he probably means these - http://www.realdoll.com/ (prob not work safe) - with a couple of sensors in it to make noises and move around a bit.
Fembots are most likely a little out of your reach.

  4. Cameron Reilly Says:

well miriam, your career path is all laid out for you! Bring me FemBots. Kurzweil assures me that rapid successions of Moore’s Law over the next 20 years will give us all of the computing grunt we need to emulate human sentience in a machine. Being at a cockroach today isn’t too bad when you realize it took evolution 4.5 billion years to come up with the cockroach brain. And the computing industry did it in 60. :-)

  5. Miriam Parkinson Says:

Why exactly would I want to create a robot which eliminates the need for females??
One other thing you dont seem to have considered is that technology (particularly new technology) tends to malfunction at the worst possible moment, so do you really want to risk having a fembot go into garbage disposal unit mode in the middle of *cough* other activities?

  6. Cameron Reilly Says:

hmmm I’ve had worse things happen in the middle of it.

  7. Cameron Reilly Says:

at least the fembot isn’t going to call you a month later to tell you it’s pregnant.

  8. Cameron Reilly Says:

aw shit, just realized I missed GREAT line before when you were talking about AI’s only having the intelligence of cockroaches. What I *should* have said is

“So women should be easy then!”

I always think up my best lines on the way home…
