G’Day World in 2007

Yeah yeah… I can hear what you’re saying.. “Don’t tell me he’s going to try another format change which will last a week and then he’ll forget…”.

Well maybe. But you can’t blame a guy for trying.

So here’s what I think I’m going to try to do in 2007.

Starting Jan 1st, I’m going to try to record a show EVERY WEEK NIGHT. It might be long, it might be short, it might be an interview I’ve recorded earlier in the day. Sometimes I may have to pull out due to other commitments. But either way I plan to do a show a day.

The schedule of shownotes, guests and talking points will be up here:
G’Day World Shownotes. Rather than keep a separate notebook for each show I think I’ll just keep sub-headings under this folder. I’ll also keep the links to the calendar and forum here as well. Makes it all rinky dinky easy, huh? Let’s see how long I can keep this one up! :-)

Oh and Molly, Tony… bite me. I’ve had a “ridiculously strong influence” on Miriam’s life. :-)

    Hmmm what did I say???

I know Molly always take the piss out of you and there is a certain enjoyment in reading those ;P

  2. Cameron Reilly Says:

oh I think you’ve had a dig or two over my format changes!!!

  3. Miriam Parkinson Says:

To be fair Cam few of your format changes have made it past the first implementation.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that :-)

  4. Cameron Reilly Says:

well yeah.. I’ve got format ADD.

  5. Cameron Reilly Says:

    also known as FADD. :-)

  6. Rob Irwin Says:

Oh this will be good… heeheehee…

  7. Rob Irwin Says:

Incidentally, here’s a concept for you.

The segment is called, “Question without notice” and, as the name suggests, you basically have a question of the evening and just call random people on your Skype list, to see what they think. So one night I might be sitting there and…

    RING RING

    Rob: Hello?
Cam: Rob, it’s Cam. We’re talking about Penguins tonight. Your view?
Rob: Well they’re black and white, aren’t they?

Oh the hilarity that could ensue.

  8. Phillip Molly Malone Says:

Rob: I want to advance your idea. I think its fair to say Cam ain’t going to get back to Microsoft no matter what happens. So here is the thought. Skype bomb a Microsoft Exec! Once a week/month, Cam rings a MS exec and asks them questions they don’t want to answer. For me Cam’s call to the Vista Manager and him going, “hmmm, Aghhhh” was the highlight of the year!

Just writing this now I must Digg that episode and try and get some traffic for it!!!!

    Molly
PS. So did they sue you over that Cam?

  9. Phillip Molly Malone Says:

Oh yeah, I just want to announce that after being whacked with a wet lettuce by Cam in this post, I am officially stopping commenting and Posting on the net. This ban will last the same amount of time as the average GW format lasts.
    Molly

  10. Phillip Molly Malone Says:

Wow, man. Few, glad that ban is over. Toughest minute of my life!
    Molly

  11. Cameron Reilly Says:

bwaaahaha. no they didn’t sue me.

  12. Rob Irwin Says:

Hmmmmmm, asking M$ questions they don’t want to answer… sounds like my day job! :) So Cam… Question without notice?

  13. Phillip Molly Malone Says:

So when is the Second MS Skype Bomb show? Perhaps (after our recording the other night) you could ring the Outlook PM and ask him why its a piece of the proverbial.

By the way, how didn’t you get one of those Vista laptops Cam? ;-)
    Molly

  14. Cameron Reilly Says:

In all seriousness, if I was going to skype bomb anyone right now it would be Tony Abbott. What are the laws of recording phone calls in Australia?

  15. Rob Irwin Says:

You need to tell someone upfront that you’re doing it, and receive their permission. At least, that’s how I always do it when I’m interviewing people at work.

  16. Cameron Reilly Says:

Rob, what if I’m calling, say, a politicians office and don’t get past the secretary. Can I record the secretary?
