Ticketek Greed

Tony Harris IM’d me this morning about the Alice Cooper tour. Tickets going on sale to Visa customers Monday May 7 ahead of general public sale 11 May.
This statement on Ticketek’s website pissed me off:
During this pre-sale, a Premium Access fee of $20 per ticket has been applied to ensure the allocation of premium seating prior to general public sale.
Oh and:
Standard transaction fees also apply.
You know the tickets are already going to be over-priced. And Ticketek are already charging their standard fees. But they are going to try to squeeze another $20 out of people to sell them “premium seating” tickets. Don’t premium seats ALREADY cost more? Yeah, sure. But they are going to add ANOTHER whack on top.
This kind of greed is appalling.
I’m not going to buy tickets on principle.
Last time I saw Alice was in 88 or 89. It was a great show. I nearly got into a fight with a couple of bikers. At one point, Alice cut the head off a life-sized cardboard cut-out of himself and threw it into the audience. It came directly at me! Just as I grabbed it, I was knocked over from behind. I turned around ready to kick some ass and saw two bikers, weighing about 200kgs each, looking like they just stepped out of MAD MAX. I declined to try to get Alice’s head back….
